On a related note, I eventually rewrote WAP from scratch for Windows 95 and DirectX, called it WAP32, and it's the engine we used for Claw, Get Medieval, and Gruntz! :) Music I still get emails from people asking for more MicroMan adventures. When the six of us (the Monolith founding members) got together and created Monolith and The Monolith CD, one of the things we did was to create a special version of MicroMan with a rendered intro movie, pumped up sounds, and new music. This was a minor problem-I just called the game MicroMan. Alien Planet ran in 320x200 (in DOS) so when I brought the graphics over to Windows, the objects looked tiny in 640x480. I needed to create a demo game for my new engine so I stole some art from a DOS game I had been working on called Alien Planet. I decided to see what was possible, graphically, with Windows and proceeded to create "WAP" (Windows Animation Package) which was (as far as I know) one of the first 2D gaming engines (with flicker-free software sprites) created specifically for Windows. Determine the fate of MicroMan and help him find a capsule to reverse the effects of the experiment gone wrong.Back when Windows 3.0 had just come out, I had already written a nifty graphics engine for DOS and had made a few games with it that were published by SoftDisk. To make the journey a bit, shorter players can find unusual means of transportation as they overcome obstacles and maintain their survival. The gameplay itself will make this a difficult and long journey as you face off against powerful enemies. The goal is to return back to your normal size. You play as a laboratory worked who, due to an unfortunate accident in the lab, falls into the experimental reduction capsule and gets shrunk to the size of an ant. This will be a single-player experience as players must adapt to the combination of adventure, arcade, and survival game genres. Fighting rats, running away from hedgehogs, trying to get on the bus, and avoiding human feet are only a few of the challenges that await you in this humor-filled adventure. There is a dynamic and multifaceted adventure as players take on the challenges of the world. MicroMan will challenge you to face adversity that would be considered not a problem for most people. See the world from a new perspective and overcome challenges as you seek to reverse your small size. MicroMan is like the video game version of “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” and it provides a unique challenge when you are only an inch tall. In this unique title, you must look at the world around you from a new and unique perspective. There are planned releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch versions to follow the PC release. Developed by Glob Games Studio, MicroMan is set to launch on PC through Steam in 2021.
